Business Visa D to Lithuania – Detailed Information

The Business Visa D is a long-term visa designed for individuals who wish to engage in business activities in Lithuania. This visa allows foreign entrepreneurs and investors to stay in Lithuania for up to one year, with the possibility of renewal, and is ideal for individuals planning to start or manage a business in Lithuania.

This visa is typically required for those looking to operate or invest in a Lithuanian company, set up a branch, or engage in other business activities that require a prolonged stay in the country.

Key Requirements for Business Visa D:

  1. Company in Lithuania:
    • The company must be established and operational for no longer than 1 year before applying for the visa. If the company is newer than 1 year, the visa can be issued as long as the company is still active and meets other criteria.
    • The company should be registered with the relevant authorities in Lithuania and adhere to local business laws.
  2. Share Capital:
    • The company applying for the Business Visa D must have a minimum authorized share capital of €28,000.
    • This ensures the company has a sufficient financial base and is legally compliant with Lithuanian regulations for foreign investors.
  3. Personal Bank Account Statement:
    • The applicant must provide a recent bank statement showing a balance of at least €6,000. This is required to demonstrate financial stability and the ability to support yourself during your stay in Lithuania.
    • The funds should ideally be in a personal account, not a company account.
  4. Health Insurance:
    • The applicant must have valid health insurance that covers a minimum of €30,000 for the entire duration of the visa.
    • The health insurance must be valid throughout your stay in Lithuania, ensuring that you have adequate coverage for medical emergencies.
  5. Photo:
    • A recent passport-sized photo (33×45 mm), taken in color and age-appropriate, must be submitted as part of the visa application. The photo should meet the required specifications for Lithuanian visa applications.

Application Procedure:

  1. Prepare Documentation:
    • Gather all necessary documents, including proof of company registration, bank account statement, health insurance, passport, and photo.
    • Ensure all documents are in order and meet the specific criteria outlined above.
  2. Submit Application:
    • Submit the visa application to the Lithuanian Migration Department or at a Lithuanian Embassy in your home country.
    • You will be required to provide proof of the business, share capital, and financial stability during the application process.
  3. Decision Processing:
    • The Business Visa D is generally processed within 2 to 4 months from the date of application submission. This processing time can vary depending on the specifics of your application and the embassy or migration office’s workload.
  4. Visa Issuance:
    • Once your application is approved, the Business Visa D will be issued for a 1-year stay, allowing you to enter Lithuania for business purposes.
    • You may apply for an extension or other visas after the 1-year period, depending on your ongoing business activities in Lithuania.
